In 2005, IWR is expecting a jump in turnover with stock-exchange-listed companies in the regenerative energy sector

Münster (iwr-pressedienst) – According to a prognosis by the International Economic Platform for Renewable Energies (IWR) in Münster, German stock-exchange-listed companies in the renewable energy industry will be able to achieve major increases in turnover in 2005. In 2004, the total of about 20 listed companies from the fields of wind energy, solar energy and bio-energy achieved a turnover of around 1.8 billion euros in the industrial manufacture of regenerative technologies, the planning and setting-up of installations as well as with the supply of energy. "For 2005, we are expecting a major increase in the turnover of all stock-exchange-listed companies in the regenerative sector by over 50 percent to 2.8 billion euros”, said IWR Chief Dr. Norbert Allnoch in Münster. This year, the wind sector will be able to benefit from the current world-wide increase in demand for wind power installations. However, the biggest surge in turnover for the entire renewable energy industry in 2005 will come from the solar sector, according to Allnoch.

The ranking list of the TOP 5 stock-exchange-listed companies from the renewable energy industry (year 2004) by turnover
1. REpower Systems AG, wind energy (321 million euros)
2. Conergy AG, solar energy (285 million euros)
3. Nordex AG , wind energy (214 million euros)
4. SolarWorld AG , solar energy (200 million euros)
