VSB Group starts construction of Baranów-Rychtal wind farm in Poland
Wroclaw/Dresden (renewablepress) - In the Wielkopolska voivodeship, VSB Energie Odnawialne Polska sp. z o.o. has begun preparations for the construction of the Baranów-Rychtal wind farm. A total of 11 Nordex wind turbines with a combined output of 42.6 megawatts will be installed. The turbines are scheduled to go online in 2023.
The building permit for the Baranów-Rychtal wind farm in the Kępno district was approved at the end of 2019 and then succeeded in the 2020 renewable energy auction. The wind farm will be capable of supplying electricity equivalent to average consumption of around 36,000 households with environmentally friendly and inexpensive electricity.
“We are liaising closely with the town of Baranów and the municipality of Rychtal to make the construction of the wind farm as smooth as possible. We look forward to working together and want to create added value for the communities and their residents. We want to involve them in the expansion of renewable energy sources in their vicinity. The energy transition in Poland needs more attention and pace. We are ready and willing to help shape the change to climate-friendly and cost-effective electricity generation,” said Hubert Kowalski, Managing Director of VSB Energie Odnawialne Polska sp. z o.o.
“We developed the wind farm project entirely ourselves from scratch, using wind turbines that nearly reach the 4 MW class. This makes Baranów-Rychtal one of the most advanced projects in all of Poland, considering that the majority of wind farms are currently built with turbines in the 2 MW class. Unfortunately, legislation still prevents the installation of higher and more efficient turbines due to the 10H rule. By way of comparison, with the same number of turbines in the 6 MW class we could produce twice the amount of electricity per year,” adds Andrzej Latusek, Senior Project Development Manager at VSB Energie Odnawialne Polska sp. z o.o.
“We look forward to working together and want to thank both municipalities and their mayors for their support, but also our partners Nordex, the civil works contractor ONDE, and the electrical and telecom works contractor P&Q,” said Marcin Sokołowski, Director of Construction at VSB Energie Odnawialne Polska sp. z o.o.
VSB in Poland
VSB has operated in Wrocław since 2008, having already commissioned around 76 MW in Poland, and manages over 300 MW of wind and photovoltaic assets. About WSB Neue Energien Holding GmbH
The future of our energy supply is in renewables. This has been VSB Group’s guiding principle since 1996. And it’s been successful, too. From its head office in Dresden, the consultancy has become an international provider of wind energy and photovoltaic solutions. VSB adds value throughout the entire project life cycle, from securing land through approval planning and implementation to operations. We also offer our clients and investors a full range of specialized services and operate as a general contractor. We aim to provide quality, optimal project management, high-value components and excellent partners.
VSB implements environmentally-friendly projects, reducing CO2 emissions by several thousand tonnes. With our partners, we help municipal councils and mayors to develop and implement energy- and climate-driven concepts. Our common goal is to create a reliable energy supply, use energy consciously and efficiently and at low cost. This enables us to involve citizens comprehensively at an early stage, build acceptance and develop individual participation models.
Over 350 employees in Germany, Europe and around the world are engaged to make our vision of 100 percent energy generation from renewables a reality. For example, we have already succeeded in connecting roughly more than 700 wind energy and photovoltaic plants to the grid. Many other projects are currently in development with cooperation partners, municipalities, citizens and investors.
