Nordex: 162 percent increase in installations in Germany

04 Jul 2016 | • Reliable deliveries and product range the key to success Hamburg (renewablepress) - Nordex closed the first half of 2016 with a new record in German installations. The total of 134 new turbines installed marks an increase of 135 percent over the same period in the previous year (H1/2015: 57 turbines). At the same time, Nordex took increasingly larger turbines on line during this period, as a result of which average capacity per turbine rose from 2.3 MW to around 2.6 MW. In terms of output, new installations thus rose by 162 percent to 341 MW (H1/2015: 130 MW). Despite the substantially larger volume, Nordex was able to execute all contracts on time and in accordance with the agreed... read more...

Fewer turbines, greater output: Nordex to repower the Altenbruch wind farm

27 Jun 2016 | Hamburg (renewablepress) - Nordex will be replacing 16 legacy N60/1300 wind turbines with nine modern N117/3000 ones for PNE Wind AG by the end of 2016. Located near Cuxhaven in Germany, the Altenbruch I wind farm will be undergoing what in Germany is seen as a business model offering considerable potential for the future: repowering. In 2015, repowering accounted for 18 percent of all new installations in Germany. The Altenbruch project is a good example showing the purpose of repowering. Although the number of turbines installed at the wind farm 18 years ago will drop by almost half, yield is expected to more than double. “In Germany it is important to increase the output of existing... read more...
