Nordex Group’s order intake reached nearly 1.1 gigawatt in the second quarter

12 Jul 2018 | - Global footprint pays off Hamburg (renewablepress) - The Nordex Group recorded order intake of 1,089.8 megawatts in the second quarter of 2018 (previous year: 565.5 MW), thus continuing the performance seen at the first quarter of the year when new business exceeded one gigawatt. At the end of the first half of 2018, the Group achieved order intake of a total of around 2.1 gigawatts (H1/2017: 933 MW) in project business (without service). Performance in the second quarter was particularly underpinned by demand in Brazil, where the Group obtained the largest single order (595 MW) in its history. Together with a further order for 123 MW, Brazil was the largest individual market (718 M... read more...

Nordex Group awarded largest ever single contract for 595 megawatts

10 Jul 2018 | - Wind farm in Brazil comprises 191 turbines Hamburg (renewablepress) - In the second quarter of 2018, the Nordex Group gained the largest single contract in its history: it will supply and install turbines for the Brazilian wind farm “Lagoa dos Ventos” with a capacity of around 595 megawatts for Enel Green Power. The project is composed of 191 AW125 turbines. With an installed capacity of 3.15 or 3.0 MW, the turbines will be mounted on top of 120-meter concrete towers which the Group will be producing locally at its own plant in Brazil to lower costs and minimise the environmental footprint. The wind farm is located in the state of Piaui in the north of Brazil, which is characte... read more...

Current market study on wind energy: German market threatens to collapse even more dramatically – government still indecisive

03 Jul 2018 | Hamburg - With its "Concise Analysis of the Wind Energy Market in Germany 2018" , the Hamburg-based consulting firm Övermöhle Consult & Marketing (ÖCM) has published its latest projections for the development of the wind energy market. "Following last year's record expansion in the wind energy sector, the construction of new wind turbines will decrease considerably this year. According to the concrete plans of the surveyed wind power project planners, new onshore systems generating around 4,000 megawatts (minus 25 percent) will be built," explains ÖCM Managing Director Klaus Övermöhle. This negative trend will continue in 2019. If the German government does not immediately follow up... read more...

Nordex Group has connected 207 MW wind farm successfully to the grid according to schedule

08 Jun 2018 | Local tower production pays off Hamburg (renewablepress) - The global trend towards larger projects is clearly evident in the wind power industry. Since the mid-1980s the capacity of individual wind farms has risen from less than 50 megawatts to several hundred megawatts. The reasons for this are obvious: business in renewable energies has attracted financially potent investors, while governments all around the world are committed to clean energy and large projects are specifically less expensive. This has also resulted in changes in the business of manufacturers such as the Nordex Group which has been active since 1985. Explains Patxi Landa, a member of Nordex SE’s Management Boa... read more...
