Solar power increases to over 100 billion kilowatt hours in the EU

13 Oct 2018 | Münster (renewablepress) - In 2018 solar plants in Europe are heading towards a record level in the generation of solar power. Yesterday (12.10.2018), solar power exceeded the 100 billion kilowatt hour mark (2017: 21.11.2017), at an earlier point in the year than ever before, according to IWR, a Münster -based renewable energy institute. This emerges from data provided by European transmission system operators and analysed by IWR. In the ranking of European countries generating solar power in 2018 (as at: 12.10.2018), Germany leads with 38.1 billion kWh, ahead of Italy with 15.6 billion kWh, Spain (10.7 billion kWh) and the UK with 10.2 billion kWh. Nordex builds first larger wind farm with new N149 turbines in Finland

04 Oct 2018 | - Project for 18 turbines signed with Neoen Hamburg (renewablepress) - In September, the Nordex Group has received an order from project developer Neoen, for the installation of the 81 MW wind farm "Hedet". The project comprises 18 turbines from the new N149/4.0-4.5 series, which the Nordex Group is to install for its customer on a turnkey basis. Once all the turbines have been set up, the two companies are to collaborate over the long term and have concluded a Premium Service contract covering a period of fifteen years. Nordex extending Dutch wind farm “Wieringermeer” for Vattenfall

26 Sep 2018 | Addition of 118 MW - 32 N117/3600 turbines Hamburg (renewablepress) - Today, Vattenfall, the owner of the Dutch electricity company Nuon, signed a delivery contract for the expansion of the “Wieringermeer” wind farm with the Nordex Group at the Global Wind Summit in Hamburg. The expansion comprises 32 N117/3600 turbines. Last year Vattenfall had ordered 50 turbines from the same series, of which construction is currently prepared. wpd starts Spanish 200 Megawatt projects

25 Sep 2018 | Bremen (renewablepress) - The Spanish projects of the wpd Torozos portfolio are now taking on concrete dimensions: In early September, the company ordered 39 Siemens Gamesa wind turbines of Type SG 3.4-132 with a nominal output of 135 MW. The next step is the construction of the turbines, which is to be completed by fall of 2019. This is the first phase of the portfolio, which in total encompasses 200 MW.
