Renewable energy industry
Munster, 07. December 2005 - The mood in the renewable energy industry has considerably dampened in November 2005. The business climate index of the International Economic Platform for Renewable Energies (IWR) in Münster has dropped sharply from 101.2 points in October 2005 to just 94.5 points in November.
Of the renewable energy industry companies, the solar and bioenergy sectors judge their current business situation to be unchanged relative to the previous month; the wind power industry also saw only a slight downturn. What all the sectors have in common, according to the IWR, is their more or less marked shift in sentiment regarding the outlook for the next six months. “The clear decline in the November results is a genuine warning signal,” said IWR Head Dr. Norbert Allnoch. The subdued mood is caused in particular by the planned rapid phasing out of tax-saving funds without transitional periods and the increasing problems in gaining planning permission for wind power projects in what is anyway a depressed market.
