Business climate index for renewable energy industry remains low, also in December
Munster, 10. January 2006 - The mood in the renewable energy industry remained subdued towards the end of 2005. The business climate index of the International Economic Platform for Renewable Energies (Internationales Wirtschaftsforum Regenerative Energien (IWR)), Münster, was stagnant in December 2005 with 94.4 points, remaining almost unchanged from November (94.5).
"The significant stagnation of the business climate in the renewable energy industry in November continued on into December", said IWR Managing Director, Dr. Norbert Allnoch. While the current business situation remains stable, companies had more of a pessimistic outlook for the next half-year, explained Dr. Allnoch. Many companies were expecting consistent development from the current level for the first half of 2006 and, at present, see no additional market or growth stimuli in Germany. This has suppressed the mood and, consequently, the index. Certainly export-oriented companies are benefiting from growth in international markets.
