Simulation Models of Wind Power Plants and their Use in System Wide Power System Analysis Studies in Europe: 1st International Wind Integration Symposium
Langen/Frankfurt/M. - Maintaining security of energy supply is a Europe-wide task. This is particular true with increasing share of renewable energy such as wind and PV in the European power system. Considering national plans, such as the German phase out of nuclear, long-term European power system planning is becoming more and more important.
The 1st International Wind Integration Symposium will discuss the rele-vant issues from the wind power integration perspective. It will take place in Frankfurt/Main on June 16 – 17, 2011. The basic idea of the Wind Integration Symposium is to discuss only two or three key topics to be able to concentrate on relevant issues. Those topics will change from one symposium to the next. This year’s main topic focuses on Simulation Models of Wind Power Plants and their Use in System Wide Power System Analysis Studies in Europe. The program is supported by European transmission system operators (TSOs) and leading wind turbine manufacturers.
The Wind Integration Symposium is organized by the same team that successfully has been organizing the annual "International Workshop on Large-Scale Integration of Wind Power into Power Systems as well as on Transmission Networks for Offshore Wind Power Plants" for the last 10 years.
The preliminary program and the registration details are available on the workshop homepage: http://www.windintegrationsymposium.org.
