Nordex to install further wind farms in France
Two internally developed projects sold to ewz
© Nordex SEHamburg (renewablepress) - The Nordex Group has been awarded a contract for the installation of two wind farms in France. These are the “Autremencourt” and “Vihiersois” projects, which together comprise 15 N117/2400 turbines. The contract provides for the development of the wind farms, turn-key installation and service for a period of 20 years.
The customer is the energy utility of the City of Zurich ewz (Elektrizitätswerk der Stadt Zürich), which will thus be increasing its wind power output by around 22 percent to some 550 GWh. The two projects will together produce around 100 GWh of clean electricity, helping ewz to take a decisive step forward in achieving its plans to steadily expand the production of energy from renewable sources. With around 1,200 employees, ewz is a leading energy utility offering sustainable energy and communications solutions.
Nordex is one of the largest names in France, having installed wind turbines with an aggregate output of more than 1,500 megawatts. Roughly half of this capacity comes from the company’s own project development team in France. The wind farms are to go to into operation at the end of 2018 and in the first quarter of 2019, respectively.
About the Nordex Group
The Group has installed wind power capacity of more than 21 GW in over 25 markets, generating sales of EUR 3.4 billion in 2016. It currently has roughly 5,000 employees. The production network comprises plants in Germany, Spain, Brazil, the United States and India. The product range primarily concentrates on onshore turbines in the 1.5 - 4.5 MW class addressing the requirements of land constrained as well as grid constrained markets.
