Hamburg, 10th July 2006 - With Cameron “Mac” Moore (45), Conergy has succeeded in acquiring another leading executive for the ongoing expansion of its share of the U.S. renewable energy market. Born in New York, Mac is an expert for the market launch of renewable energies in the U.S. Prior to this engagement, Mac managed North American commercial and residential segments for the solar business unit of a global energy company. In addition, as Deputy Director of the Solar Energy Industries Association headquartered in Washington DC, he played a key role in the development of solar incentive programs for numerous states.

As the Regional Head North America, Mac will be responsible for forging ahead with the strategic business development of the entire Conergy Group in the U.S. and Canada. Based in Sacramento, California, he intends to expand the customer-oriented distribution, sales and installation networks swiftly in the most promising states for renewable energy systems. “Against the backdrop of the world’s diminishing natural resources, the U.S. finds itself on the verge of a national turning point in terms of energy. The consistent use of local renewable energy sources will make a significant contribution toward covering growing energy requirements and in gradually becoming less and less dependent on imports from troubled regions. Thanks to its unique worldwide experience and customer focus in the implementation of solar, wind and bioenergy projects, Conergy is in a prime position to expand its North American market share substantially. I am looking forward to taking on this challenge with my U.S. team,” states Mac Moore explaining his move to the Conergy Group.

The U.S. ranks among the solar markets with the world’s largest potential for growth. Presently, for example, there are incentives for the installation of photovoltaics in over 20 states. With a newly installed total power of around 90 megawatts in 2005, after Germany and Japan, the U.S. market constitutes the third largest market for photovoltaics. Around 75 percent of these systems have been installed in California.
According to a large number of studies, the U.S. photovoltaics market will grow to a cumulative installed capacity of about 900 MWp in 2007, which corresponds to a total growth of more than 300 percent within 4 years.
