Eesti Energia and emsys VPP Prequalify Solar Park in the Baltics for Frequency Markets

25.06.2025 | Tallinn/Oldenburg (renewablepress) - Eesti Energia, an Estonian publicly owned energy utility, and emsys VPP, a German provider of Virtual Power Plants, have officially prequalified one of the largest solar parks in the Baltics for providing automatic Frequency Restoration Reserve (aFRR) and manual Frequency Restoration Reserve (mFRR). The Sopi Solar Park is operated by Eesti Energía´s subsidiary Enefit Green. Completed in 2025, the plant has a total capacity of 74 MW and a projected annual electricity output of 75 GWh which covers the annual electricity consumption of approximately 22,500 average Estonian households.
