Monitoring Center receives GL certificate at first try - PRUEFTECHNIK Condition Monitoring GmbH is one step closer to becoming an independent system provider -

Ismaning - With the successful certification of its Monitoring Center by representatives of the Germanische Lloyd Industrial Services GmbH (GL) on the 22nd of February, 2007, PRUEFTECHNIK Condition Monitoring is one step closer to becoming an independent system provider. GL certifies that the processes employed by the Monitoring Center are in conformity with GL directive IV – Part 4 of GL Wind. In addition to the certified services of the Monitoring Center, PRUEFTECHNIK offers system operators a comprehensive package of approved measuring equipment for monitoring tasks.
“Thanks to the intensive preparations put into the certification process, the Monitoring Center team succeeded at first try in meeting all requirements and in integrating all processes into the existing ISO 9001 quality management system,” explained Mr. Werner Hippler, Head of Quality Assurance at PRUEFTECHNIK in Ismaning, Germany. Mr. Simon Lebherz, responsible for documenting the business processes of the Monitoring Center, notes: “The documentation clarifies our processes, serves as a reference manual and is useful to new employees as a training resource. In the future, we will also be able to support customers in developing their own monitoring programs.”
The audit test made GL representatives aware that PRUEFTECHNIK expertise extends beyond fault detection on drive trains. Condition Monitoring can also be used to make recommendations on how to reduce excessive vibration – e.g. to determine the alignment targets of drive trains.
