Beck Energy Presents Solar Power Plants at

Berlin - Beck Energy GmbH of Kolitzheim, Lower Franconia (Germany), was among the 187 companies invited to showcase their products at “Schloß Bellevue”, the official residence of the Federal President of the Republic of Germany. The exhibition is sponsored by the President and the German Environmental Foundation “Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt” and its goal is to demonstrate the scope and importance of environmental technology in Germany. Every year the benchmarking environmental engineering firms are chosen through a selection process in recognition of their efforts.

Among the exhibition guests were high-ranking representatives of the economic, scientific and political communities. Federal President Horst Köhler and Federal Environment Minister Sigmar Gabriel paid personal visits to the booth and were greeted by Beck Energy CEO Bernhard Beck. Hans-Josef Fell, member, spokesman for energy and technology and energy expert of the green party “Bündnis 90/DIE GRÜNEN” also stopped by and affirmed his position on the future of energy policy: “Climate protection is no burden. Zero-Emission renewable energy is affordable, creates new jobs and represents true climate protection.”

The project showcased by Beck Energy was the Dimbach Solar Power Plant. It has been in operation since 2004 and produces about 1465kWp of electricity per year. This is equivalent to the amount of energy consumed by about 450 homes, saving CO2 emissions in excess of 1500t per year. Beck Energy, the world leader in thin-film technology solar power plants, is especially proud of the integration of ecological and economic issues in their ground-based systems. On one hand, highly optimized components, such as solar modules, inverters and cabling result in a significantly higher yield than conventional solar power plants of the same nominal capacity. On the other hand, local vegetation is not disturbed due to the clever design of the substructure, adding an additional environmental benefit to the equation. On top of it all, Beck Energy solar power plants can be fully recycled. This is especially true for the solar modules. They are covered by a comprehensive life-cycle management program, that includes output warranties and a free-of-charge take-back and recycling program at the end of their service life, where close to 100% of the materials are re-introduced into the module manufacturing process.
