Klimaschutz: Weltweiter CO2-Ausstoß steigt immer schneller an

Münster (iwr-pressedienst) - Nicht weniger, sondern immer mehr Kohlendioxid wird derzeit weltweit freigesetzt. Der Ausstoß an klimaschädlichem Kohlendioxid hat sich seit der Jahrtausendwende sogar deutlich beschleunigt, teilte das Internationale Wirtschaftsforum Regenerative Energien (IWR) in Münster mit. Nach den vorliegenden globalen Zahlen des deutschen Bundeswirtschaftsministeriums wurde im Jahr 2006 erstmals die Marke von 30 Milliarden Tonnen CO2 überschritten. Im Jahr 1990 waren es 22,7 Milliarden Tonnen, zehn Jahre später 24,7 Milliarden Tonnen (Jahr 2000) klimaschädlicher Gase.

„Die Zahlen bestätigen, der Trend geht in die völlig falsche Richtung und das mit zunehmender Geschwindigkeit“, sagte IWR-Direktor Dr. Norbert Allnoch. Aus der Sicht der Weltgemeinschaft sind wir beim Klimaschutz weiter denn je von einer Stabilisierung oder gar Trendwende entfernt, so Allnoch.
