Industry expert to strengthen international sales at ÖKOBIT GmbH
Föhren/GERMANY - Söhnke Neumann, 42, became the Europe Sales Manager at ÖKOBIT GmbH in Föhren (Rhineland-Palatinate) on 1 July 2012. Having been involved with the sales industry for biogas plants since 2006, the industry expert brings with him extensive experience in managing and further developing international markets.
Neumann’s work will initially focus on sales in Poland, the Czech Republic and England. In the long-term, he will also develop and implement strategies for entering markets in other European countries.
In the current environmental and energy-related conditions, the concept of supplying power, heat and gas from renewable energy sources has significantly gained in importance in Germany and Europe. Over the last ten years, the number of plants set up in Germany rose from 139 to 7,215, with a total of 7,521 expected for 2012 (source: Fachverband Biogas e.V.).
Focus on other European countries
Following the boom within Germany, ÖKOBIT is now focusing on developing business with other European countries. Over the last few years, the company has already successfully completed projects in Luxembourg, Belgium and Switzerland, with initial projects in Poland and the Czech Republic soon to be carried out.
Achim Nottinger, managing director of ÖKOBIT GmbH, sees great potential in the European biogas market, and is convinced his company is perfectly equipped for it in terms of technology and human resources. \"Our biogas systems are highly developed and are even setting international standards. With Söhnke Neumann, we have also been able to secure a manager with industry experience to boost our focus on internationalisation.\"
Born in Wilhelmshaven (Lower Saxony), Neumann studied geoscience at the University of Trier, graduating in 2000. Confident that using and developing biogas technology was ecologically and economically trend-setting, he became the deputy divisional manager of European sales at Biogas Nord AG in 2006. In 2008, he moved to MT-Energie GmbH, where he last worked as the divisional manager of Western Europe Sales.
The new sales manager believes he has come to the right place at the right time by joining ÖKOBIT, and is particularly impressed with the company’s technological programmes: \"I am very familiar with the biogas market and its players. ÖKOBIT has always inspired me, because the company has been focusing on particularly flexible biogas concepts and high-quality components right from the start. ÖKOBIT plants comply with the different location-based, and therefore also country-specific, requirements.\"
