Overwhelming interest in N117/2400 - Nordex scores a success at HusumWind 2012
Hamburg - At this year\'s HusumWindenergy Nordex informed the visiting specialists about current developments, trends, projects and detailed solutions for all aspects of its multi-megawatt turbines. The centre of attention at the company\'s fair stand was the N117/2400 light wind turbine. As a result of the company\'s position on the international market, in addition to numerous customers in Germany, many developers and utilities from Europe and Asia took this opportunity to find out more about the advantages of this efficient turbine for concrete light wind sites being planned.
Nordex has been producing the N117/2400 turbine in series since mid-July. The turbine has already been sold out for this year, several turbines have already been installed in Germany. At the moment the North American 81.6 megawatt \"Beebe\" project is being installed in the district of Gratiot, Michigan, with 34 large N117/2400 turbines. One special feature of this turbine is the 58.5 metre rotor blade, for which carbon fibre is used. The Nordex partner SGL Rotec produces the rotor blades according to the manufacturer\'s specifications. Furthermore, as of 2013, Nordex will also be producing these rotor blades itself in order to meet the strong demand for the N117/2400 as quickly as possible.
\"The positive reaction by our customers at HusumWindenergy has confirmed that we have the right product for the market. In 2014 we will be exhibiting at WindEnergy in Hamburg. Here the infrastructure of the metropolis offers sufficient hotel capacity, an international airport link and a modern fair centre - everything our customers have asked for regarding a leading international exhibition in Germany,\" says Lars Bondo Krogsgaard, the Management Board member responsible for Sales, Project Management and Service at Nordex SE.
