GEOSOL: new 1 MWp photovoltaic rooftop power plant on logistics center in Markgröningen

Berlin - A photovoltaic plant with a total capacity of 1.005 MWp and 4,104 solar modules has been commissioned by GEOSOL Gesellschaft für Solarenergie mbH in Baden-Württemberg in the city of Markgröningen. The plant was built in only six weeks by GEOSOL on a logistics park with a roof area of 27,500 m2.

The promoter of the logistics center, the greenfield development GmbH, chose to work with GEOSOL due to its combined financing, construction and operating expertise: \"We are delighted to have found in GEOSOL a highly qualified investor and operator for our fourth PV plant. The construction of our new logistics park, including the solar rooftop plant, has been handed over on time to our tenants in spite of a challenging schedule\", says Christian Kühn, managing partner of greenfield development.

\"greenfield development has experience equipping its logistic parks with PV plants: the project conditions were ideal, with good solar radiation, short decision time and excellent collaboration\" says Markus Rödel, project manager at GEOSOL.

The plant in Markgröningen will produce approximately 1,000 MWh of clean electricity each year, saving around 650 tonnes of CO2 emissions. It is expected to generate enough electricity to cover the demand of 470 households. For GEOSOL it is already the 29th plant realized in Europe.
