Wind energy in Turkey: No risk for institutional investors

Since liberalization of the energy market, the framework conditions for wind energy projects in Turkey have improved significantly. The minimum tariff for wind turbine installations is 7.3 US cents per kilowatt hour and is guaranteed for a period of 10 years.

In addition, wind turbine applications using components manufactured in the country are compensated with an additional bonus of 0.6 to 3.7 cents / kWh. In addition, the state guarantees the reduction of the generated electricity from renewable energies.

Energy utilities (RUs) must reduce all available electricity from renewable energy sources. Electricity distributors and transporters are obliged to connect renewable energies with priority to their respective electricity grid and to pass the electricity through.
