Nordex durchbricht 2-GW-Schwelle bei Errichtungen in Großbritannien und Irland
Hamburg, Didsbury (iwr-pressedienst) - Mit der Errichtung von insgesamt 862 Anlagen in Großbritannien und Irland hat die Nordex-Gruppe jetzt in beiden Ländern zusammen die 2-GW-Schwelle an installierter Leistung erreicht. Davon entfallen 1,5 GW auf Windparks in Großbritannien, sowie 600 MW auf Parks in der Republik Irland. In der Republik Irland und in Nordirland hat das Unternehmen Turbinen mit insgesamt 750 MW installiert. Bei typischen Kapazitätsfaktoren können nun 1,3 Millionen Haushalte mit grünem Strom versorgt werden. Nordex hält aktuell einen Marktanteil von rund 20% in der Republik Irland und rund 10% im Vereinigten Königreich.
Die Nordex-Gruppe installierte ihre ersten Turbinen in Großbritannien im Jahr 2001, in Irland im Jahr 2003. „Wir haben mit über 230 Mitarbeitern ein starkes Team vor Ort aufgebaut, das eng mit unseren Kollegen in der Zentrale zusammenarbeitet", sagt Richard Furniss, Managing Director für Großbritannien und Irland. „Unsere Märkte sind durch folgende Merkmale gekennzeichnet: hohe Windgeschwindigkeiten, komplexe Gelände, schwierige Standortzugänge, anspruchsvolle Planungsbedingungen wie Lärmschutzbeschränkungen, strenge Netzanforderungen und hohe Erwartungen an das HSE-Management. Ein Großteil unseres Geschäfts erfolgt mit Stammkunden, die wissen, dass wir genau diese Herausforderungen meistern. Den Großteil unserer installierten Turbinen wartet zudem unser erfahrenes Serviceteam“. Furniss fügt hinzu: „Da beide Länder sich auf Auktionssysteme umstellen werden, steht bei uns die Reduktion der Energiegestehungskosten an erster Stelle. Indem wir größere Rotoren und leistungsstärkere Anlagen zu diesen komplexen Standorten bringen, schaffen wir eine gute Ausgangsposition, um unsere Installationsbasis auf beiden Inseln weiter auszubauen."
Die Nordex-Gruppe im Profil
Die Gruppe hat mehr als 21 GW Windenergieleistung in über 25 Märkten installiert und erzielte im Jahr 2016 einen Umsatz von EUR 3,4 Mrd. Das Unternehmen beschäftigt derzeit rund 5.000 Mitarbeiter. Zum Fertigungsverbund gehören Werke in Deutschland, Spanien, Brasilien, den USA und in Indien. Das Produktprogramm konzentriert sich auf Onshore-Turbinen der 1,5- bis 4,5-MW-Klasse, die auf Marktanforderungen in entwickelten Märkten und Schwellenländern ausgelegt sind.
