Reußenköge (renewablepress) - Dirkshof has successfully been operating in the wind energy sector for 35 years and has been increasingly active internationally for several years. Dirkshof Estonia OÜ was able to construct and commission the Aidu wind farm in Estonia on a turnkey basis within just one year. The wind farm comprises 15 Vestas V150 wind turbines, each with a rated output of 4.5 MW, and a transformer station. Construction was carried out in cooperation with local and international partners under the management of Dirkshof Estonia OÜ. The project was financed in equal parts by NordLB and Swedbank.

The wind farm has been fully operational since March 2024 and is now officially handed over to the operating company Aidu Windpark (AWP).

"We are pleased to support Estonia in this way to stabilize the energy situation through renewable energies," says Dirk Ketelsen, CEO Dirkshof Estonia OÜ. "We would like to expressly thank all the partners and companies involved for their good and constructive cooperation. It is not a matter of course to get a project of this size connected to the grid in such a short time."

The Aidu wind farm is expected to generate an annual output of 12 million kilowatt hours per turbine, which means a total saving of 135,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year. Around 40,000 households will be supplied with electricity - a valuable, sustainable contribution to Estonia’s achieving its ambitious renewable energy targets.
