greenwind acquires wind project with 22.4 MW
© greenwind GroupBerlin (renewablepress) - The greenwind Group has taken over the project rights for four wind turbines in the Freudenberg wind farm (Brandenburg). Four Vestas V150-5.6 MW turbines with a hub height of 166 meters each will now be constructed. Green Wind Construction GmbH will be responsible for implementation. The project has all necessary permits as well as an award from the Federal Network Agency.
Together with the employee-owned turbine Freudenberg Nord1, construction of the new Nord2 project is now beginning with cable and road works. In April, crane and assembly areas will be installed, and from August Vestas will deliver the turbines. All units are scheduled to be commissioned by January 2027. This means greenwind requires only one year to complete the project.
Manuel Lasse, co-shareholder of the greenwind Group, sees the acquisition as a successful contribution to the energy transition, a benefit for the municipality, and a worthwhile investment - even during volatile times for renewable energy generation in Germany:
“A seamless takeover was also possible because we have already been active in the municipality of Freudenberg for years. Among other things, we are currently developing and constructing our team-owned turbine here, which will belong to all greenwind employees once completed. We are thoroughly familiar with the local conditions, including grid connection.
The second point: we can implement such an acquisition from a single source. Following the development phase — which in this case was already very advanced — we will immediately begin construction thanks to our Group-owned construction management. Commissioning as well as the best possible technical and commercial operations management are ensured by our Group; processes interlock, are predictable, and adhere to binding schedules. With Freudenberg Nord2, we position ourselves as a strong partner for acquisition projects.
The fact that this transaction could nevertheless be completed fairly and smoothly under extreme time pressure is thanks to all parties involved, including the banks and Vestas, as well as our dedicated employees.”
