E.ON and WINKRA choose REpower to supply a 5-megawatt turbine - Installation scheduled to take place in Cuxhaven in December 2006

Hamburg, 5 December 2005. REpower Systems AG has gained an important customer for its 5-megawatt turbine REpower 5M with EWC Cuxhaven GmbH. EWC is a joint venture between the leading international energy service provider E.ON (represented by E.ON Energy Projects GmbH) and the leading German wind park developer WINKRA, which has been part of the Essent Group since 2003. Installation of the wind power turbine is provisionally scheduled to take place at the DEWI-OCC test field in Cuxhaven in December 2006.

REpower Systems AG only recently announced the sale of a REpower 5M turbine to EWE AG, an energy company based in Lower Saxony, Germany. The second REpower 5M at the DEWI-OCC test field will also have a hub height of 117 metres and will be installed next to the wind turbines operated by EWE. E.ON/WINKRA has chosen the offshore version of the REpower 5M turbine, which has a helicopter deck, emergency room and other special facilities for the operation of this type at sea.

Prof. Fritz Vahrenholt, Chairman of the Board of Management at REpower Systems AG, said: "Each additional test turbine on land provides us with important know- ledge for the planned offshore use. Our turbine technology has enabled us to win over one of the most important players on the European energy market, E.ON, which already plays an important role on the international offshore energy market and, like WINKRA, has a large project volume on the North and Baltic Sea. We are delighted that E.ON and WINKRA have chosen a REpower turbine."
