For the project carrier the Offshore Ostsee Wind AG from Börgerende, the executive committees Dr. Gernot Blanke and Carlo Schmidt received the permission.
The 2nd Partial permission contains the establishment and the enterprise of the electrotechnical net binding (cable systems) within the 12 sm-zone as well as in the land range and the enterprise of a re-clamping platform with wind measuring mast. The 1st Partial permission, which covers the wind park with 21 offshore wind energy plants as well as their park wiring, had been already given at the 31.März 2006. Thus the first completely approved offshore wind energy project in Germany is present.
The enterprise reached thereby an important milestone for the realization of the first German offshore wind park in the 12 sm-zone of the Baltic Sea. It concerns the building and enterprise of 21 offshore wind energy plants of the multi-megawatt class approx. 15-16 km before the coast of the Darß with water depths between 16 and 19 meters. The project lies within a suitability area for the offshore wind power utilization, proven in the national regional development program of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The achievement of the wind park is sufficient, in order to supply annually approx. 57,000 households with pollution free produced energy.
After the present schedule a realization of the project is planned for the year 2007/2008. Dr. Gernot Blanke, responsibly for investment and finances and at the same time chairmen of the board of the WPD AG (Bremen), is confidently: „With the realization of the project extensive investments will be released. At present we work with high pressure on a suitable model “. With the realization of the project the location Rostock is to be developed to the offshore authority center, because: “Whenever possible, enterprises from the region are merged into the creation of value chain. “ so the chairman of the board Carlo Schmidt.
