REpower Systems AG and enXco Inc agree on the delivery of 75 wind energy turbines (150 megawatts) to the USA

- Delivery for wind farm project in California scheduled for 2008
- REpower branch office planned in Portland/Oregon

Hamburg, 12 April 2007. REpower Systems AG (WKN 617703) concluded an agreement with the project developer enXco on the delivery of 75 wind energy turbines of the MM92-class (corresponding to a total capacity of 150 megawatts). The turbines are destined for a wind farm project in the State of California. 19 out of 75 turbines arise from an option arrangement with enXco negotiated in 2006. The project is already included in the sales forecast of the REpower Systems AG for the year 2008 amounting to EUR 900 million.

During the past months, the REpower development centre in Rendsburg (Schleswig- Holstein, Germany) had devised a 60 Hz version of the MM92 that complies with the requirements of the American electricity network.

The delivery of these 2 megawatt turbines with a rotor diameter of 92 metres is scheduled from the middle of 2008 onwards. The wind farm is supposed to be established at the West Coast of the USA, approximately 140 kilometres to the northeast of San Francisco.

Prof. Fritz Vahrenholt, CEO of REpower Systems AG, comments: "The project "Shiloh II" is a further milestone to extend our position in the world’s most important wind energy market, the USA".

In terms of the current backlog, the US comprising a total of 262 megawatts constitutes the largest market of REpower Systems AG. The company assumes that in the long term, about 20 percent of the annual production will be allocated to this market. In the course of the year and with a view to offer an optimum local customer service, REpower intends to set up the branch office REpower USA Corp. in Portland, Oregon, which will be in charge of sales, service and project management issues.
