PowerWind GmbH installs first wind turbines in Eastern Europe

- First five wind energy converters in Poland and Romania erected

- Further delivery contracts close to completion

Hamburg - German manufacturer PowerWind GmbH has successfully completed the installation of five PowerWind 56 wind turbines in Poland and Romania.

Near Toplet, a Romanian town situated in the south western foothills of the Carpathian Mountains, two wind energy converters were installed for customer Monsson Alma Srl at the end of May. They are expected to go into operation in June. In Poland, three wind turbines were installed in Ludkowo and Chelmiczki at the beginning of June. Both sites are located about 120 kilometres east of Poznan.

"We consciously chose the PowerWind 56", said Dr.-Ing. Rainer Kniehl, advisor to Monsson Alma, one of Romania’s leading wind farm developers. "Besides the technological concept of the turbine, we were impressed by the fact that the PowerWind 56 is particularly well-suited to logistically challenging sites."

"Poland and Romania are two of our key markets", said Dr. Klaus Pötter and Stefan Heczko, Managing Director of PowerWind GmbH. "We are convinced that these countries have considerable growth potential, and will continue to intensify the good customer contacts we already have."

In addition to Italy, Bulgaria, and Germany, Poland and Romania will play an important role in the continued expansion of business activities. Sales talks with other customers from Poland and Romania are already at an advanced stage. Later this year, the company expects to receive follow-up orders in Poland and Romania.
