juwi moves forward: Office opened in Cape Town

- In the presence of a range guests juwi Renewable Energies officially inaugurated its new office in South Africa

Cape Town - How could the future of South Africa look with renewable energies? One answer to this question was provided last Thursday by the project developer juwi: As the company shows, renewable energies lure new foreign investments to the country, create jobs and provide for a secure and sustainable energy supply. In the evening, juwi Renewable Energies (Pty) Ltd officially inaugurated its new office in Cape Town. Jochen Magerfleisch, the COO of the Germany-based juwi group, said: \"100 per cent renewable energy generation – that is our mission. We are aiming at accomplishing this mission with, and for, the people and we are now proud to do so in South Africa. Renewable resources like the wind and the sun are free of charge, quite soon they will enable many people to have access to cost-effective electricity. At the same time renewables contribute actively to climate protection.\"

The new office in Cape Town was urgently needed since the company is developing fast. Starting just one year ago with only one full-time employee, juwi now has a team of 17 employees working on projects in South Africa. Martin Görner and Christof van den Bruck, the two Managing Directors, emphasised in their speeches that the new office showcases the success of juwi Renewable Energies.

Martin Görner said: \"It is always interesting to see how fast new markets can grow if the support from the local entities is handled the right way. Here in South Africa we expect a sustainable market for PV especially taking into consideration that we are very close to reach grid parity\".

juwi is looking forward to a bright future. Christof van den Bruck said: \"Over here we are doing both, greenfield development and services as an EPC contractor. The prospects in South Africa are promising. We are very proud to be part of the growth of renewable energies in South Africa.\"
