Erster von der PNE WIND-Gruppe entwickelter Windpark in der Nordsee geht ans Netz
Cuxhaven (iwr-pressedienst) - Der Offshore-Windpark Borkum Riffgrund I nördlich von Borkum hat vor wenigen Tagen erstmals Strom in das deutsche Netz eingespeist. Die insgesamt 78 Anlagen werden nun sukzessive ans Netz genommen. Die PNE WIND-Gruppe, ein international tätiger Windkraft-Pionier aus Deutschland, hatte den Offshore-Windpark in der Nordsee seit 2001 zunächst allein und dann in einem Joint Venture mit dem dänischen Energiekonzern DONG Energy entwickelt. Seit der vollständigen Veräußerung des Projekts an DONG Energy ist die PNE WIND-Gruppe weiterhin als Dienstleister für den dänischen Energiekonzern tätig.

Der Offshore-Windpark liegt rund 54 Kilometer vom Festland und 34 Kilometer von der Insel Borkum entfernt in der Nordsee. Nach seiner Fertigstellung wird Borkum Riffgrund I insgesamt 78 Windturbinen umfassen und eine Nennleistung von 312 Megawatt (MW) aufweisen. Das ist ausreichend, um rund 320.000 Haushalte mit CO2-freiem Strom versorgen zu können.
