Varel (renewablepress) - On assignment from Global Tech I Offshore Wind GmbH, Deutsche WindGuard Inspection has now successfully completed recurring inspections on 30 wind turbines at the offshore wind farm Global Tech I in the German North Sea.

The contracted scope of services at this wind farm located around 180 kilometres northwest of Bremerhaven, Germany, comprised the inspection of tower and nacelle in accordance with the Standard Design of the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH).

“We are pleased that Global Tech I Offshore Wind GmbH counts on our expertise and has commissioned us with the inspection of the technical condition and safety equipment,” says Jan Wallasch, Managing Director of Deutsche WindGuard Inspection, “with the highest level of thoroughness, our experienced offshore experts carefully inspected this year’s inspection scope of 30 turbines and also checked the monitoring and maintenance documentation. For this purpose, the team was stationed on board of the REM Inspector service vessel directly in the wind farm for four weeks in June.”

“With its 80 Adwen AD 5-116 turbines and a total output of 400 megawatts, Global Tech I is one of our most important references in the field of offshore inspections,” Leif Rehfeldt, Head of Business Development, is likewise pleased to report. “During this year's inspection campaign, Deutsche WindGuard Inspection, as an independent type A inspection body accredited in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17020:2012, once again demonstrated its expertise and performance capability and recommended its services for further offshore assignments.”
