La electricidad de la nueva central nuclear británica Hinkley Point C cuesta más de 15 céntimos por kilovatio hora
© EDFMünster (iwr-pressedienst) - La construcción de la nueva central nuclear británica Hinkley Point C se ha retrasado y será bastante más cara de lo previsto para la empresa nuclear francesa EDF. Pero no sólo están aumentando considerablemente los costes de construcción de las dos nuevas unidades de la central nuclear, con una capacidad combinada de unos 3.280 MW, sino que los clientes británicos de electricidad también se enfrentan ahora a considerables aumentos de los costes de la energía nuclear generada en sus facturas de electricidad, según el Foro Económico Internacional de Energías Renovables (IWR) de Münster.
"El coste de la electricidad generada a partir de la nueva central nuclear británica Hinkley Point C superará con creces los 15 cent/kWh en el momento previsto para su puesta en marcha y, por tanto, estará muy por encima del precio de mercado de la electricidad", declaró en Münster el director general de IWR, Dr. Norbert Allnoch. Esto se basa en datos del registro británico de CFD.
El Gobierno británico había acordado inicialmente un precio mínimo inicial garantizado de 89,50 £ /MWh (10,3 cent/kWh) con el fabricante y constructor francés de las centrales nucleares, EDF, por la energía nuclear de la nueva central nuclear de Hinley Point C sobre la base del modelo de Contrato por Diferencias (CfD). La tarifa mínima inicial de 89,50 £ /MWh (10,3 cent/kWh) es un precio de partida que aumenta con la tasa de inflación británica. Si el precio actual de la electricidad en el mercado bursátil es inferior a la tarifa mínima de la energía nuclear, que aumenta dinámicamente, los clientes británicos de electricidad deberán asumir la diferencia de costes.
Los últimos datos del registro de CFD a 1 de septiembre de 2023 muestran que el precio de ejercicio mínimo actual ya ha subido a 128,09 libras/MWh (14,8 ct/kWh). Se trata de un aumento de los costes de más del 43%, pero actualmente no se vislumbra el final de la dinámica espiral de costes de la energía nuclear británica.
Según el registro CFD, está previsto que la primera unidad de la central nuclear (C 1) entre en funcionamiento el 1 de junio de 2027, seguida de la unidad C2 el 1 de junio de 2028. Suponiendo una tasa de inflación anual británica del 3% y que no se produzcan más retrasos en la construcción, el precio de la energía nuclear generada a partir de Hinkley Point C se elevaría ya a 16,7 ct/kWh en la fecha de puesta en marcha en 2027.
