Sulzemoos, 29 March 2006 / Phönix SonnenStrom AG (ISIN DE000A0BVU93) has signed contracts with two new suppliers for the delivery of solar modules with a peak power output totalling 6 megawatt (MWp) in 2006. A Letter of Intent on a volume of 143 MWp up until the year 2010 is confirmation of the company’s growth plans.

A supply contract for 2 MWp of monocrystalline solar modules has been agreed for the year 2006 with Changzhou Trina Solar Energy Co. Ltd., a manufacturer of modules based in Changzhou in the Province of Jiangsu. Trina currently manufactures 30 MWp a year of ingots and, similarly, of wafers and modules. The company intends to ramp up its module capacity to 100 MWp by 2010.

Tianwei Yingli New Energy Resources Co. Ltd. in Baoding in the Chinese Province of Hebei is to deliver 4 MWp of polycristalline modules during the current financial year. In addition, an agreement was made with Yingli via a Letter of Intent on the supply of 143 MWp in total between 2006 and 2010. With an overall output of 100 MWp, Yingli is one of the largest manufacturers of modules in China. It has plans to expand its capacity to 500 MWp by the year 2010.

Phönix SonnenStrom AG has selected these two suppliers from more than 20 manufacturers of solar modules in China. Convincing factors were the high quality of the modules, modern production facilities and thecompanies’ growth targets. Phönix SonnenStrom AG currently takes deliveries from seven module manufacturers in total and anticipates sales of EUR 140 million with at least 35 MWp in the current financial year.
