juwi Group Strengthens its Management Board / Martin Winter is the new Chief Financial Officer

The 45-year-old business graduate knows juwi for many years. He is looking forward to his new tasks in an industry that has a lot of potential in the future.

Woerrstadt - juwi, the project developer for renewable energies, extended its Management Board. From 1 July onwards, Martin Winter (45) took over the position of the Chief Financial Officer. Winter is responsible for Corporate Finance as well as accounting and controlling. This means that from now on there are four people who will control the fate of the juwi Group. Next to the company founder Fred Jung and Matthias Willenbacher, Jochen Magerfleisch holds the position of the Chief Operating Officer.

Beneath 17 years of experience in the financial sector, Winter distinguishes himself by a view of juwi that is anything but ordinary: Last summer the enthusiastic sports pilot flew his gyrocopter over the rolling Rhine-Hessian countryside. Below him – between the wind turbines and the solar field – lay juwi headquarters. At that time, this still comprised two buildings; a third building is currently being completed. juwi’s rapid growth in recent years is one of the reasons Martin Winter has joined the company. The board’s responsibilities have grown, and so has its need to spread the tasks on more shoulders.

Over the last two years, the business graduate already had close ties to the company’s development. As a partner at the consulting firm Schwabe, Ley und Greiner, he has advised juwi on many financial matters. He has helped developing the company’s liquidity plan and designed the treasury concept. \"The company has a coherent and consistent financial charter. I wrote it myself,\" he says with a wink. Behind this casual remark, there is also an important insight: Martin Winter knows what he is getting himself into – and not just from a professional perspective. \"juwi’s atmosphere and flair are particularly attractive\", he says.

In his eleven-and-a-half years as a consultant, Martin Winter has worked with many diffenrent companies – from DAX-listed groups to classic mid-sized businesses. He began his career in the construction sector. He was responsible for the commercial auditing of major projects in Asia for the Philipp Holzmann Group. At 31, he was the head of internal auditing for the group. He later became the head of finance for the construction company SÜBA. In short, his professional life can be summed up with four terms: banking training, business degree, construction industry and consultancy career.

Martin Winter refers to himself as a child of the Rhine-Main region. He was born in Offenbach and is stilled based in the greater Frankfurt area. He is a fan of the Eintracht soccer club and he often plays the church organ in his local parish on Sundays. During the 1990s, he studied in Paris and speaks fluently French. On holiday, he and his wife regularly ride their motorbikes to rather exotic corners of the world. And then there is his hobby as a sports pilot. Indeed it cannot be said that Martin Winter lacks perspectives.
