Stock Exchange: USA overtakes China in renewable stock index RENIXX World

- New index composition: SolarWorld drops out after 7 years

Muenster - The American companies have strengthened their position in the worldwide stock index for renewable energies RENIXX World. The recently updated index´s new composition has the USA with eight companies once again assuming the lead from China, which dropped from its top position with only seven remaining companies represented in the index. Since 2010 China had continuously maintained its preeminence in the ranking. Germany landed once again five companies in the index, which afforded it third place in the index ranking.

In the course of the biannual major adjustment of the index composition, which took effect on July 1, 2013, four companies have dropped out of the RENIXX listing. Besides the US wind energy supplier American Superconductor and the Chinese solar module manufacturer Suntech Power, the wind power producer China WindPower and the German solar company SolarWorld bowed out of the index. SolarWorld had been part of the RENIXX since the inception of the index in May 2006. The only other companies that have maintained their presence in the market barometer since the very beginning are the wind turbine maufacturers Vestas, Gamesa and Nordex. Four new companies including the photovoltaic project planner SolarCity, the fuel cell manufacturer FuelCell Energy (both USA), the solar panel producer Canadian Solar and the German wind energy project planner PNE Wind have made the leap into the new edition of the RENIXX listing.
