Stürmisches Wetter bringt neuen Windstrom-Rekordmonat
Münster (iwr-pressedienst) - Das stürmische und unbeständige Wetter der vergangenen Wochen hat der Windenergie in Deutschland einen neuen Rekord beschert. Im Dezember 2014 wurde in Deutschland mit knapp neun Milliarden Kilowattstunden (kWh) so viel Windstrom wie noch nie in einem Monat produziert, teilte das Internationale Wirtschaftsforum Regenerative Energien (IWR) in Münster mit. Die Werte basieren auf einer Auswertung der vorläufigen Daten der Strombörse.
Mit insgesamt 8,9 Milliarden Kilowattstunden Windstrom konnte die bisherige Rekordmarke aus dem Dezember des Jahres 2011 (8,4 Mrd. kWh) übertroffen werden. "Hauptgrund für den Windstrom-Rekordmonat ist die aktuelle zyklonale Wetterlage mit sehr vielen Tiefdruckgebieten", sagte IWR-Direktor Dr. Norbert Allnoch in Münster. Der neue Windenergie-Rekord könnte aber schon 2015 wieder übertroffen werden, so das IWR. Zahlreiche neue Offshore-Windparks nehmen im Jahr 2015 erstmals die Produktion auf und diese erzeugen den Strom hauptsächlich in den wind- und verbrauchsstarken Wintermonaten.

In 1996, the International Economic Platform for Renewable Energies (IWR) was established as an independent and private service institution of the renewable energy industry.
