Value Enhancement: Tion Renewables repowers three solar PV plants in Italy, lifting capacity by 40%

© Enfo ServiceMunich (renewablepress) - Tion Renewables GmbH (“Tion Renewables” or “Tion”), a leading European independent power producer (IPP), has completed the repowering of three operational solar PV plants in Italy. Replacing fixed-tilt structures with tracker systems and new modules has increased installed capacity by close to 40%.
The plants, located in Veneto in northern Italy and Basilicata in southern Italy, have been operating since 2011 and 2012 and are expected to generate around 7 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of green electricity annually after the upgrade. They continue to benefit from feed-in tariffs for the upcoming years, providing contractually secured revenues and stable cashflows, while the new equipment extends their operational life well beyond the tariff period.
The project is part of Tion’s value enhancement strategy: Tion systematically creates additional value from assets it already owns through repowering, revamping, asset hybridization and optimized financing structures alongside constant, proactive asset management and commercial enhancements.
