Focuses on Solar Power

Bremen, 29. September 2005. Until today, the WPD group has syndicated projects with total investments of 1.2 billion Euro – mostly in wind power. As of mid-September the Bremen based syndication house received the Scope Award 2005 as best syndication house for closed-end renewable energy funds. „Being the market leader, we see ourselves well established in the renewable sector. Now, there is clear focus on expanding our solar branch further. Our mid-term aim is duplicating the market leadership already reached in the wind power sector.“, explains WPD chairman Dr. Gernot Blanke.

The project pipeline for the next two years is chock full of projects which have very good prospects for implementation “, says Martin Gromus, managing director of WPD Solare Energien GmbH. Other than the markedly positive trend on the German solar market WPD expects growth by leaps and bounds on the international markets. "The international development of wind power in the last years has already shown the dynamic growth. Now we are beginning to experience the same level of demand in solar power. Other than the many international projects under review, we are on the verge of closing a solar power project in southern Europe, which will be built in 2006", Martin Gromus adds.
