Deutsche Windtechnik achieves new record: More than 1,500 turbines with more than 2,000 MW under maintenance contract
Bremen - At the beginning of 2014 Deutsche Windtechnik has a new record on its own behalf: the independent service company exceeded the 1,500-mark with the recently concluded maintenance contracts so that it is now in charge of a total of 1,516 wind energy turbines with an overall performance of 2,096 MW within the frame of service agreements, including 513 full maintenance agreements. With this positive result Deutsche Windtechnik has expanded its position amongst the independent service providers and closes up to well-known manufacturers.
Full maintenance required
In 2013 a total of 224 turbines were signed – especially turbines of the larger megawatt classes of the manufacturers Vestas® and SIEMENS®. “2013 was a strong year for us! On the one hand we are pleased with the steadily increasing trust of the operators in our work. On the other hand our full maintenance concept has established on the market: about 80 % of the new contracts concluded in 2013 were full maintenance contracts”, Lars Behrends, authorized signatory and head of sales of Deutsche Windtechnik Service GmbH & Co. KG, recognizes.
Service network expanded
Not only the numbers but also the expansion of the service structures reflect the entrepreneurial growth: In order to keep the short response times; five new service locations were opened in 2013, one of them in Poland (Slupsk), and existing locations were strengthened with human resources. All in all the service network includes 37 locations today. The qualification of new employees is ensured by an established “practical trainer concept”. In doing so the service technicians are educated by experienced practical trainers directly on the turbines according to technical and individual requirements.
Complete servicing for wind energy plants
The company Deutsche Windtechnik with its headquarters in Bremen offers the entire package for technical maintenance of wind energy turbines from the same source. The focus areas of the service provider are machine service, rotor blade service, control, safety, expertise and consulting, substations and repowering. The company predominantly works onshore but increasingly also offshore.
