A highly ambitious and promising new east-west wind alliance

- The Bavaria-based Max Bögl Group and OSTWIND are seeking to more effectively tap the potential of wind power in the Czech Republic
– this new partnership will be officially launched at WindEnergy 2014 in Hamburg

Regensburg/Sengenthal/Prague/Hamburg - On the occasion of the WindEnergy 2014 trade fair in Hamburg, the Max Bögl and OSTWIND company groups will ceremoniously announce the official launch of their collaboration on the Czech wind energy market. Under the umbrella of the company Max Bögl OSTWIND GmbH (MBO), whose head office is in Sengenthal, Germany, the two Bavarian family enterprises are planning on jointly developing, implementing and marketing wind farms in the neighbouring Czech Republic.

The timing for the launch of this new east-west wind alliance could not be any more promising: just a few days ago, this joint venture successfully connected up its first wind project, the Oldrisov wind farm in the Czech district of Opava. The Vestas V 90 installed for this project will supply around 1,500 households with clean, green electricity, and is locally seen as a groundbreaking symbol of a renewable energy supply and new potential for generating value in the Moravian-Silesian region.

At the same time, there are signs of a genuine shift in the Czech government\'s energy policy. This can be seen in the draft proposals recently published by the Czech Ministry of Industry for a new national energy programme. In these proposals, the coal-based generation of electricity is set to be reduced and the expansion of nuclear energy generation delayed.

OSTWIND and the Max Bögl Group are firmly convinced that these current developments are hugely promising for an ambitious expansion of renewable energy generation and for wide-spread use of wind power in the Czech Republic. Both companies have not only a great and well-respected wealth of expertise in the technology and planning of wind energy projects, but also many years of experience working in the Czech Republic, Germany’s eastern neighbour. With the formation of the joint company MBO, they feel they are in an even stronger position for efficiently and successfully tapping into the Czech Republic\'s hitherto neglected potential in terms of wind power generation.

Together with the managing director of OSTWIND CZ, Martin Vojacek, MBO\'s newly anointed managing directors Michael Bögl, Jörg Zinner and Dr. Rolf Bungart will announce the official launch of MBO at WindEnergy 2014 in Hamburg. The two company groups\' ceremonial event for the wind power industry will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday 26.09.2014 at the OSTWIND stand, Hall A1-216, and will be attended by a delegation of guests from the Czech Republic.
