Deutsche Windtechnik undertakes various supervisory functions for Vattenfall in the German offshore wind farm DanTysk
Bremen - Vattenfall has engaged the offshore division of Deutsche Windtechnik to carry out relevant parts of the construction and assembly supervision for the wind energy turbines in the offshore wind farm DanTysk. Engineers and technicians of Deutsche Windtechnik systematically document and analyse the quality of the whole construction and manufacturing process and monitor the compliance. The work on site of Deutsche Windtechnik has now started with the supervision of delivery and storage of the first nacelles at the base port DanTysk in Esbjerg (Denmark).
80 wind energy plants of the type SIEMENS® SWT-3.6 are installed on an area of 70 square kilometres in the wind farm DanTysk which is located west of the island of Sylt. According to the current construction plan the focus is on three overlapping construction phases which are partly supported by Deutsche Windtechnik: the \"Pre-Assembly\" in the port of Esbjerg, the \"Mechanical Completion\" of the turbines on the sea and the preparation for commissioning, the \"Pre-Commissioning\". The focus of the supervision of Deutsche Windtechnik will be the inspection of the incoming materials and nacelles, the storage concept as well as the inspection of the transport of the components to the wind farm. For the rotor blades a quality control with corresponding documentation is already carried out during manufacturing.
Six years offshore experience
\"Due to our many years of experience with SIEMENS® turbines in our company we know the SWT-3.6 very well. Above that, we have more than six years of offshore expertise in our different departments, like for example Expertise & Consulting, Safety, Rotor blades or Tower/Foundation. Especially in the last months the resulting synergies helped our offshore train to move on\", Matthias Brandt, director of Deutsche Windtechnik, explains the increasing importance of offshore wind energy for the company. DanTysk is implemented as a joint project between Vattenfall and Stadtwerke München. Vattenfall is responsible for the construction and operation of the wind farm, Stadtwerke München holds 49 %.
