Bremen (renewablepress) - Deutsche Windtechnik's corporate structure is about to change in Germany: Effective in 2024, the two largest service units, Deutsche Windtechnik Service GmbH & Co. KG and Deutsche Windtechnik X-Service GmbH, will be merged into a single onshore business unit. The name of the new merged unit will be Deutsche Windtechnik GmbH & Co. KG.

Hauke Behrends (formerly Managing Director of Deutsche Windtechnik Service GmbH & Co. KG) and Severin Mielimonka (formerly Managing Director of Deutsche Windtechnik X-Service GmbH) will jointly be responsible for the management of the new unit.

Faster, more efficient and more compact

The merger does not just consist of the changes in the company form: In addition, at different levels and in almost all departments, existing processes will be evaluated, simplified and standardised, technical competencies will be combined, and much more. "The merger will strengthen our competitiveness, and this will also benefit our clients. For example, in the future we will manage all of the wind turbines in their portfolios in a centralised manner," Hauke Behrends said. The merger will also have a major effect on service deployments: "By merging the service locations, for example, we are making our service even more compact and decentralised. This has the advantage that the travel time to some deployments will be shorter, and our on-call services will be more flexible. We are also combining our control centres, scheduling departments, technical support, engineering, materials management, purchasing, the entire IT infrastructure, personnel and sustainability, and preparing them for the future."

Utilising staff even more effectively

Another goal of the merger is to optimise the deployment of specialist personnel: From the outset, our staff worked hard to deploy our specialist personnel in the new unit as efficiently as possible. Severin Mielimonka said: "In the past, we could have taken care of a few more service requests if we had had more specialist personnel available. The merger is also an effective strategy to counter the current shortage of specialised workers." This means there will be no loss of jobs. Deutsche Windtechnik will continue to pursue its goal of increasing its attractiveness as an employer.

Combining the best of both units

"The merger is a gigantic project that we are putting a lot of effort into, motivated by our passion for professional maintenance. We see it as an opportunity to review and improve all of our business activities in onshore service. For this reason, the merger will be an ongoing process in some areas well into 2025," said Matthias Brandt, Director of the parent company Deutsche Windtechnik AG. "We are in the excellent position that we can combine the best of both units, collect ideas and set goals together with our staff regarding how we want to continue to develop in the coming years and position ourselves for the future."
