RENIXX World: Renewable stock index extended to 20 companies - Stock exchange year 2006 brings 42.2 percent increase

Münster - Since the 2nd of January 2007, RENIXX (Renewable Energy Industrial Index) World, the worldwide stock index for renewable energy sources, includes a total of 20 (instead of 15) companies belonging to the renewable energy industry. As announced by the International Economic Platform for Renewable Energies (IWR) in Münster, Germany, alongside the wind turbine manufacturer REpower Systems AG and the biofuel supplier Verbio Vereinigte BioEnergie AG from Germany, the American solar companies First Solar and SunPower are also listed. With the American company Ormat Technologies, the geothermal sector is represented for the first time. "The companies' increased stock exchange capitalization has made it possible to extend the basis of RENIXX World", explains IWR Director Dr. Norbert Allnoch. The total market capitalization of all companies included in the renewable stock index RENIXX World is currently 39.5 billion euros. The free-float market capitalization on which the index calculation is based comprises a total of 19.8 billion euros. The renewable stock exchange barometer ended the year 2006 on 925.61 points, having increased by 42.2 percent.
